Edge + Cloud control for industrial PV

Local EMS for industrial PV.

Gridpulse is a vendor-neutral EMS/control layer for C&I PV, local O&M teams and regional portfolios that need zero export, automated curtailment, fast remote service and reliable setpoint execution across mixed devices.

Protect the grid connection

Dynamic setpoints keep export at or below target.

The problem

PV assets are becoming active infrastructure.

Monitoring shows what happened. Gridpulse is focused on execution: reading the site, deciding locally and writing safe setpoints when a plant, factory or O&M team needs a response.

Industrial PV

Export limits are operational, not theoretical.

Factories with PV need production to follow real consumption, connection limits and site rules. Manual setpoint changes do not scale across changing load profiles.

O&M portfolios

Mixed devices create fragmented operations.

Local O&M teams often support several inverter brands, meters and loggers. A shared control and logging layer removes work from vendor portals and spreadsheets.

Control history

Fast setpoint changes need traceability.

When a controller changes active power, the operator needs to know why it happened, what data was used and whether the write succeeded.

Solutions

Three operational packages for industrial PV and C&I sites.

Gridpulse is built for practical operating needs: monitoring and Edge operations, active power control, and reactive power compensation after technical qualification.

Monitoring and Edge operations

One operational view for sites and portfolios

Production, alarms, device state and event history are collected in one panel, with remote diagnostics and maintenance for the Edge controller.

  • Monitoring for farms, meters, loggers and inverters in one place.
  • Email alerts, event history, remote diagnostics and software updates.
  • Portfolio visibility for owners, technical operators and O&M teams.
Reactive power compensation

Compensation through validated target setpoints

After a technical audit, Gridpulse can read reactive power measurements and apply validated target setpoints on supported inverters or loggers to help reduce recurring charges.

  • Reads from meters or analyzers via DLMS or Modbus TCP/RTU.
  • Enabled only where the device supports safe target-setpoint writes.
  • Qualification based on invoices, measurements and site conditions.
Architecture

Local control with remote coordination.

Gridpulse separates time-critical execution from fleet operations, so industrial PV sites can keep a clear control loop while partners manage configuration, logs and service remotely.

Gridpulse architecture: site devices connect to Gridpulse Edge for local control, while Gridpulse Cloud handles coordination, dashboards, alerts, access, audit and partner operations.
On site

Critical decisions stay local.

The Edge reads meters and devices, evaluates rules, writes validated setpoints and records each action close to the PV asset.

In cloud

Operations stay coordinated.

The portal handles configuration, dashboards, alerts, access control, audit trail, reporting and partner service workflows.

In OT

No second SCADA required.

Gridpulse can sit beside existing operator systems as an EMS and control layer for mixed PV devices and future battery storage.

Implementation

Start with one site and a narrow control scope.

The first implementation should prove device access, local control, audit trail and remote service before adding more sites or advanced optimization.

Step 1

Map the site

Confirm meters, loggers, inverters, communication paths and the exact control objective.

Step 2

Run local control

Deploy Edge, validate reads and writes, then enable the agreed zero export or schedule logic.

Step 3

Review the logs

Use event history, commissioning notes and remote service records to decide the next rollout step.

FAQ

What partners usually ask first.

Is Gridpulse a VPP or aggregator?

No. Gridpulse is the control and operations layer. It can support aggregator or flexibility integrations later, but the first product is local execution and auditability.

Does it replace SCADA?

Usually no. Gridpulse fits where customers need a focused EMS/control layer, remote operations and vendor-neutral PV integration without a heavy enterprise SCADA project.

Which devices are supported?

The integration starts from the actual site: Modbus TCP/RTU, DLMS, compatible meters, analyzers, loggers and inverters. Write control is enabled only where the device supports safe setpoints.
